WELCOME TO THE HARROGATE FILM SOCIETY

Harrogate Film Society (HFS for short) has been bringing the best in world cinema to Harrogate since 1956. We are delighted to screen our films at the Harrogate Odeon, thus providing our audiences with comfort and a full cinematic sound and vision experience.

The society is run entirely by volunteers and has a strong committed core membership, but we are very keen for new members to join us. You will find a warm welcome and a real mix of film fans and enthusiasts.

ACTIVITIES

In addition to our core programme of 15 contemporary films from around the world, we organize occasional film-related events in the local community under the banner of 'Flash Film' or 'Special Screening' or 'Special Events'.

Our most successful event has been Harrogate on Film which has now been seen by over 1000 film fans.

We hope to bring more of these in the future. If you have any ideas, please get in touch with us via email (contact.harrogatefilmsociety@gmail.com) or speak to a committee member at any of our film nights.

FLASH FILM

With this initiative, our goal is to promote film in the local community. Films we have shown under this banner include Some Like it Hot, Brooklyn and Cabaret, in venues as varied as the North Bar, the Manhattan Club and Harrogate Theatre.

We have recently shown Revolution of our Times Documentary at the Odeon and Metropolis and The Passion of Joan of Arc at Harrogate Theatre.

Adult Mini-Membership | Under 25's Mini-Membership

We are now more than halfway through our core season and all of our membership packages are closed as only guest tickets are now available for the remainder of the season (both adult and under 25's).

We offer some pre-film social evenings and intend to keep our quiz evenings a regular feature throughout the calendar.

We ask you to score the films as you leave and welcome your comments too. For those who like to discuss films in more detail, we also offer several post-film discussion groups including a free tea or coffee.

Free parking is available to all at the Odeon after 6pm,

but you need to collect & display the orange voucher in your car.

Our core season films are shown between September and April to brighten those darker evenings.

Please note that members do NOT need to book tickets or reserve seats for our core season events, just rock up on the night, flash your membership card, gain entry to the film and sit where you like!

If you would like to find out more about what we do, please get in touch using the email address provided in the Contact Us section.

Please show your ticket/s at the entrance to the Odeon Screen on arrival - on your device is fine, no need to print these off.

We also offer discounted guest tickets for all under 25's though the usual film classification rules apply e.g. you must be over 12 or 15.
