About the Event

The French Dispatch (15)

Dir. Wes Anderson  |  Germany/USA   |   2021   |  108 mins  |  subtitled

Based on the history of the New Yorker and described as a nostalgic love letter to a bygone era of journalism, the film is set in a fictional 20th century French city, Ennui-sur-Blase where an outpost of an American newspaper brings to life a collection of human interest stories. A quirky and whimsical film, beautiful to look at, romantic and melancholic.

It features an expansive ensemble cast and follows three different storylines as the French foreign bureau of the fictional Liberty, Kansas Evening Sun newspaper publishes its final issue.

Entry is free for members.

Tickets for non-members cost £6 each (Students 16 -19 £3).  These can be purchased online or will be available from the HFS desk in the lobby from 30 minutes before the film (contactless payments only please, we are not taking cash this season).  A small processing fee will be applied to all tickets.

Doors open at 7pm and the film will begin at 7.30pm. All seating is unreserved.

Our film club discussion group will be held after this screening, please note that places are limited and it is best to book a ticket in advance through our website.
