Queer goings-on in this double bill of silent film comedy with an original improvised score on the piano.
The double bill kicks off with What’s the World Coming To? (1926). Written in part by up-and-coming comedian Stan Laurel and produced by Laurel and Hardy's producer, Hal Roach, this cross-dressing comedy is set 100 years in the future in a world in which women are on top and have switched roles with men.
It’s perfectly complemented here by Rowdy Ann (1919) - a hilarious comedy western starring lesbian actor-producer, Fay Tincher. Ann is one tough, rough cowgirl, so her folks pack her off East to college hoping she’ll come back a lady. But once there, it's not long before she is putting the men in their place.
The double bill will be complemented with a couple of LGBT/queer shorts from the silent era.
