How the music scene developed across two World Wars and beyond. As well as the music, innovations in recording, independent record labels, and DJs like Alan Freed, all played their part on the road to rock’n’roll. St Louis Blues was published in 1914. How the music scene evolved until 1951, when Jackie Brenston and his Delta Cats released Rocket 88, considered to be the first rock’n’roll record.
