About the Event

Part of Harrogate Cenotaph's Centenary Commemoration Event.

HARROGATE’S HEROES: Harry Satloka of Harrogate’s Free Walking Tours.

Out of the horror of the first World War, Harrogate was home to some of the bravest and most remarkable men and women to step forward. I could talk about any one of the two thousand young people that left our North Yorkshire to head to the mud and blood of Europe in 1914 to 1918. But join me to hear just three of their stories and how life in Harrogate was affected, never before had such a huge shock come to our tranquil little town and it would never be the same again both in spirit and quite literally in appearance.

Unreserved seating, so please sit wherever you like. Tickets may be available on the door but places cannot be guaranteed so better to make sure by booking a free ticket here.
