About the Event

Part of Harrogate Cenotaph's Centenary Commemoration Event.

HARROGATE IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR: Harry’s second talk tells Harrogate’s story during the second World War. Harrogate has always been regarded as one of the most important places in England. But during the 1940s it quite literally kept the Luftwaffe and Nazi Germany at bay. From tales of the Air Ministry requisitioning our spa hotels. To tales of allied airmen strolling the streets and taking some well earned rest. We see Harrogate’s transition from looking after the most fortunate in society, to the most in need.

Unreserved seating, so please sit wherever you like. Tickets may be available on the door but places cannot be guaranteed so better to make sure by booking a free ticket here.
