DEBACLE AT SUVLA - HARROGATE’S KITCHENER VOLUNTEERS GO TO WAR:

Graham Roberts, Harrogate historian and researcher of names on Harrogate’s War Memorial. In August 1915, Kitchener’s volunteers landed on the Gallipoli peninsula and went into battle for the first time. They included Harrogate men of the 9th West Yorkshire Regiment. This talk looks at what befell the untried men as they entered the ill-fated campaign.
